Il 21 Giugno, la Dr.ssa Novello è stata invitata in sede di Parlamento Europeo ad un evento organizzato con l’intento di offrire ai Membri di questa istituzione un punto di vista tecnico e quindi più specifico e dettagliato sul tumore del polmone, sulle terapie attualmente disponibili per il trattamento dello stesso e sull’impatto che questa patologia ha a livello sociale ed economico all’interno della nostra società.
Nel corso della sua presentazione, la Dr.ssa Novello ha parlato anche di WALCE, l’associazione da lei presieduta e ha posto all’attenzione dei presenti uno dei progetti di punta sul quale si è deciso di investire quest’anno, la campagna di informazione e sensibilizzazione contro il fumo “Questa non me la fumo – vediamoci chiaro nei discorsi fumosi”.
La speranza è che a questo progetto possa essere riconosciuta una valenza educativa e preventiva tale da pensare di essere adottato non solo in Italia ma anche a livello europeo.
Health and Science Briefing on Lung Cancer
On June 21, Dr. Novello has been invited in the European Parliament at an event organized with the intent to offer to Members of this institution a technical and more specific point of view on lung cancer, on therapies currently available to treat it and on the social and economic impact of it has in our society.
During the presentation, Dr. Novello presented also WALCE projects and drew their attention on the information and awareness campaign against smoking “I do not smoke” for young pupils. The target is that this project could be recognized as a preventive and educational one so that it could be adopted at national and international level.
